Phoenix NHL Team Committed to Land Auction
Coyotes Aim to Develop Landmark Complex
The Arizona Coyotes, currently playing in a 5,000-seat arena, have ambitious plans to develop a privately funded sports arena and entertainment district in Arizona, a first-of-its-kind project in the state's history.
The team announced its commitment to winning a land auction that would allow them to build the new arena. The facility is expected to house the Coyotes and become a hub for sports and entertainment events.
Coyotes president and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said the team is focusing on a specific location for the new arena but declined to disclose it publicly. The organization is expected to make an official announcement soon.
